Investiture ceremony for Assam Rifle officers held in M'pur

Imphal, Sep 21 : An Investiture ceremony for various award winners of units under IGAR(S), was held today at Keithelmanbi, under the aegis of Assam Rifles.

The Assam Rifles personnel, including Officers, JCOs, Jawans and civil staff are awarded every year for their act of valour and meritorious service.

The function was presided over by Major General C A Krishnan, IGAR (S).

A total of 53 Assam Rifles personnel were awarded with various awards which included President Police Medal for Gallantry and Meritorious Service, Governor's Gold Medal and Governor's Silver Medal.

After the presentation ceremony, the Major General complemented the awardees for their dedication and commendable service to the nation due to which Assam Rifles has achieved the status of being a very efficient and disciplined force.

He extorted the gathering to emulate the awardees paradigm of bravery, professional work and unmatched zeal, which is synonymous with Assam Rifles for ensuring peace, stability harmony and territorial integrity of the North Eastern region of our country.
