Oil distribution drastically reduced in Manipur

Imphal, Dec 29 : The people of Manipur were unhappy as only three oil depots were opened in the entire state today.

Oil availability has drastically reduced in the state with each of the depots distributing only four kilo litres of petrol.

Only seven oil depots were opened yesterday.

Many people, who had lined up in front of oil depots, had to return without the fuel.

Due to a series of stirs by several Naga organisations, economic blockade and bad roads, petro products and cooking gas have not easily been available since May last.

Thirteen gas agencies distributed gas today.

Due to non-availability of petroleum products, people were compelled to buy those from black markets at exorbitant prices.

Prices of essential commodities have also shot up. Transportation charges have also increased in the state.
