Imphal, Mar 27 : Manipur People's Party (MPP) supporters here today staged a sit-in protest in front of its office to demand resignation of Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh.
Taking part in the agitation, the president of the organisation Y Mangi Singh and former Speaker Dr S Dhananjoy demanded resignation of N Biren, Minister Youth Affairs and Sports, as his son had reportedly shot dead a youth earlier.
A memorandum was also submitted to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by Mr Singh, President of MPP, and described the administration under the Chief Minister as 'lawlessness'.
The organisation alleged that all the centrally-sponsored schemes, including construction of roads under both urban and rural schemes, were done only in papers, saying ''innocent people'' were being shot dead everyday either by security forces in fake en-counters or unidentified people.
