Shops and houses destroyed by fire in Manipur

Imphal, March 29, 2011 :

At least 10 shops and six houses were destroyed by fire at inter-State bus terminus area here in which property worth lakhs of rupees were also destroyed, official sources said today.

Some residents lit up the garbage and waste materials located near the shops. The shops which are made of wood caught fire in which 10 shops and six houses were destroyed last night, the sources said.

Properties worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the fire, sources said adding that fire service personnel took more than two hours to control the fire which started at around 6 pm.
