IMPHAL: A group of BTS mobile tower watchmen working for a leading cellular phone company in Manipur, have gone on a strike protesting repeated attacks on them by rebel groups.
In the last two months, two watchmen have been shot dead and another seriously injured by militants. In the latest incident, a guard was gunned down at Wangkhei in Imphal East on Monday night. Earlier, on March 27 at Kongba a watchman was shot at and injured and on February 10 another employee was killed in Bishnupur district.
