Imphal, Sep 6 : Manipur Tourism was awarded the 'Most Promising New Destination Award' at the 91st Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) held at Nehru Centre, Mumbai which concluded yesterday.

The winner was adjudged from among the participants of the fair where more than 400 stake-holders from around the world were participated, state tourism officials here today said.

The award was conferred on Tourism Commissioner, Govt of Manipur KK Chhetry and his team comprising Tourist Officer L Ibochoubi, president, MMTA Dr L Surjit, MD, Seven Sisters Holidays HRK Sharma, Manager, Business Development, Shija Hospitals Santosh Shekhar and Manager, Classic Hotel Paonam Sommykanta for the team effort for showcasing Manipur as the most promising new destination.

This was for the first time that the award had been conferred on Manipur for the relentless efforts of its stakeholders in promoting the state as a preferred tourist destination, according to Tourism department officials.
