Manipur police conduct operations in market areas

Manipur police today conducted a major combing operation at the Khwairamband Keithel market here today. Sources said police detained hundreds of youths at Thangal bazaar and verified their identities. Women passersby were frisked by women police personnel. No vehicles were allowed in the area where the verification process was carried out. All the people who came for shopping were also turned back. The operation was carried out following twin blasts in the area on the night of October 26. However, there was no report of arrest during the operation.
