Vadodara, Nov 6 (PTI) A large number students from Manipur studying in various faculties of the Maharaja Sayajirao University in the city today observed fast, took out a rally and demonstrated in support of their demand for removal of Armed Forces Special (powers) Act from Manipur. Priyananda Sharma, a spokesman of the Manupur Students Union of Baroda said, "today's agitation programme is in support of the 53-year old struggle against Armed Forces Special (Powers) Act, 1958 (AFSPA) and supporting the cause of Irom Chanu Sharmila in her 11-year old struggle." He said it was a part of a nationwide campaign being carried out today by the 'Save Democracy, Repeal AFSPA Group'. Padmini, a first year student of Arts Faculty said, "we are supporting Sharmila who has been on a hunger strike completing 11 years of her struggle today,".
