Manipur Assembly introduces Lokayukta Bill

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh introduced the Manipur Lokayukta Bill, 2011 in the state legislative assembly today. The Bill seeks to establish the institution of Lokayukta in the state to enquire into the allegations of corruption against public functionaries.

The Winter Session of the Assembly which began today will continue up to December 22 and will have altogether three sittings.

AIR Imphal correspondent reports that this may be the last session of the ninth Manipur state Legislative Assembly.
