IMPHAL: Officials of Manipur social welfare and police departments are waiting for confirmation from their Maharashtra counterparts on the report of ten girls from the state rescued from a prostitution racket in Mumbai.
"We have got this information through media, but we are yet to receive any official intimation. We will do the needful to bring back those girls after confirming the report," a Manipur social welfare officer said. A senior police official, too, said the state police were yet to receive any official report on the matter from Mumbai police.
Mumbai police on Friday night raided a bungalow at Oshiwara and reportedly rescued the ten girls.
