IMPHAL, Nov 21 – Imphal airport, which was declared as international airport along with Bhubaneswar on October 30, would finally debut on the international aviation map today, when a chartered flight of Myanmar’s private airline – Golden Myanmar makes it’s maiden landing at the airport.
The chartered flight from Myanmar’s Mandalay township is scheduled to land around 10 am tomorrow and will bring Chief Ministers Tha Aye and Ye Mint of Saigang and Mandalay division along with their delegation to attend the 10-day Manipur Sangai Festival which begins tomorrow.
On its return to Mandalay tomorrow, the flight will take more than 100 passengers from Imphal. The flight time from Mandalay to Imphal would be hardly an hour, sources said.
