No obstruction on Kut, appeals panel

IMPHAL, Nov 1 : The state-level Kut committee has appealed to all sections of the public of the state to maintain peaceful atmosphere during the Kut festival on November 1, 2013, said secretary of the committee Poutingmang Doungel ADGP during a press meet at Manipur Press Cub Thursday.
He stated that lately there had been many unwanted incident taking place in the state like bomb blasts and killings in the heart of city. Our state is prone to bandh and blockade for some result or the other. So in the interest of the state public and in consideration of the upcoming festivals like Ningol Chakkouba, Diwali, and specially Kut for the Kuki-Chin-Mizo-Zomi tribes, an appeal is issued to all sections not to impose such restrictions.
The spokesperson cum media-in-charge Mang Kipgen wished that the festival of Kut-2013 be celebrated in successful way without any hindrances or problem. For the media Kut committee has arranged special space for 44 media persons and separate I-cards and jackets.
The function will be graced by the Governor of Mizoram Vakom B Purushothaman and Governor of Manipur Dr Awshwanikumar as special guests and Health Minister of State Phunjathang Tonsing as President and Gaikhangam, Govindas Konthoujam, Thangso Baite as guests of honor in the morning inauguration function.
In the evening function, Chief Minister O Ibobi, Speaker Th Lokeshwar and ministers I Hemochandra, Francis Ngajokpa and Ngamthang Haokip will attended as chief guest, guests of honor and president respectively, said Mang Kipgen.
For security arrangement, the first Manipur rifles, Imphal West police and CID department will deployed security for the function.
NE TV will give live telecast for Kut in the entire North East and nation. BSNL will give live in the internet through web site www.statelevelkut.co.in and ISTV will be in state live telecast.
For the entrance route VVIP, VIP and Media will enter through the main gate of 1st MR; invitees and cultural troupes will be allowed entry from  in Central Jail Road and the public will be allowed entry from the BSNL side gate. This is to organize the function peacefully, said Mang Kipgen.
