Man attempts to rape minor girl in Churachandpur village

Churachandpur, Mar 30 : In a bizarre incident at Pearsonmun village which is located under the Churachandpur police station on the ridge of Lamka town, an attempt to rape a minor girl was reported yesterday at about 10 am.

According to sources, the minor girl indentified as Chingbawi (name changed), 4 years, daughter of Pakhual of Pearsonmun who was about to be initiated to join school was a victim of attempted rape by one  Kamsuan, 40, son of Khamkhogin of the same village.

The person has a record of broken marriage some time back.

Sources further said that at about the time mentioned, when the minor girl`s  mother was away for a brief moment to buy some eatables for her younger brother who is about two years old from a nearby shop, Kamsuan tried to rape the girl taking advantage of the mother’s absence.

When the mother returned she caught the man in the act and lambasted him saying if he was such a lustful man why didn’t he call his wife back at home?

Meanwhile, the Young Paite Association, YPA, Pearsonmuin conducted a meeting on the incident and decided to boycott Kamsuan for the nasty act.

The boycott of Kamsuan will be effective from the night of March 27 at 9.30 pm.

The case has been taken up by the Zomi Mothers Associatiom, ZMA. They are helping the child by taking her to various places and conducting medical checks.

During the boycott no cooperation will be extended to the family of the culprit in their time of need.

The ZSF has also condemned the incident in the strongest possible terms and hoped for an amicable solution between the two families according to customs.
