IMPHAL, Apr 1 : Due to money power and muscle power used as a system in the elections in Manipur, the upcoming 15th Lok Sabha election will not be contested by Kim Gangte, ex-MP. She disclosed this at a press meet held today at the Manipur Press Club in Imphal.
She further said that as the present elections need a lot of money she didn`t come out as a candidate, adding that the problems in the state could not be solved by just dharnas or sit-in protests.
It needs correct politics and this is why the elections are very important, she observed while stating the people need to understand and use their right to vote in electing the right person.
She said she joined politics not to wield power but to solve the problems of Manipur by bringing them up in the Lok Sabha. She also said she wanted to serve the people and would work for the people, although she was not to contest the upcoming election.
She also said she would be working in collusion with the people though she was not to contest for power.
