Imphal, Apr 1 : Nomination papers of nine candidates contesting from Outer Manipur Lok Sabha seat on April 16 have been found valid after scrutiny, election office sources said on Wednesday.
The nomination papers were found valid during scrutiny on Tuesday.
The candidates are L B Sona (Nationalist Congress Party), Thangso Baite (Congress). L Adani (BJP), M Yamkhongam (Rashtriya Janata Dal), Thang Khagin (Lok Jansakti), Mani Cheranamei (People's Democratic Alliance) and independents -- Valley Rose, Rose Mangsi Haokip and Lamlalmoi Gangte.
Thursday is the last date for withdrawal of nominations.
The last date for filing nomination papers for the second phase polls on April 22 in Inner Manipur parliamentary constituency (valley districts) was on April 4.
Manipur has two parliamentary seats.
