Two file nomination papers in inner Manipur parliamentary seat

Imphal , Apr 1 : Two candidates today filed nomination papers for the second phase Lok Sabha polls in inner Manipur parliamentary constituency (valley districts), election office sources said.

CPI leader M Nara and Independent N Homendra submitted their nomination papers to returning officer A Ibocha who is also the deputy commissioner of Imphal West district.

With this, the number of candidates who have filed nomination papers in inner Manipur seat has gone upto three, sources said adding that former IPS officer A Rehaman (Independent) had already submitted his papers.

While inner Manipur will go to polls on April 22, the first phase election would be held in outer Manipur parliamentary constituency (hill districts) on April 16, sources said.

Manipur has two parliamentary constituencies -- inner Manipur and outer Manipur parliamentary constituencies.
