Manipur senior police officer suspended

Imphal, Aug 27 Director of Manipur police wireless M Rachandra has been suspended following a police report against him regarding the ongoing law and order turmoil in the state, official sources said today.

Sources said the suspension order was issued by the department of personnel yesterday.

They said the suspension followed a police report against the senior police officer and added that the report was connected with the present law and order situation.

However, sources refused to divulge the details of why Rachandra was suspended.
