Police teargas journalists in Manipur

IMPHAL: The journalists covering the on-going agitations were allegedly attacked by police with teargas canisters here on Tuesday.

Some journalists had gone to Wangkhei in Imphal East to cover the agitations by the women activists who are demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister and punishment to the police commandos for their alleged involvement in the killings of two persons and injury to five others in a "fake encounter" on July 23.

The Imphal East district police commandos fired tear gas canisters at the journalists.
