Imphal, Jun 30 : The Eighth session of the Ninth Manipur Legislative Assembly would begin from July 7.
As decided by the Business Advisory Committee, the session is likely to continue till July 29. The full budget would be discussed during the session. The state government has yet to introduce the full budget and the session would start with introduction of Budget Estimate, 2010-11.
Electricity (Manipur Amendment) Bill, 2007, Manipur Municipality Community Participation Bill, 2010, are likely to be introduced during the session.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, who also holds the Finance portfolio, had presented a budget estimate of Rs 4934.4 crore for 2010-11 on March 8 in the state Assembly. He had moved a vote on account for grant of expenditure covering the first four months of the financial year 2010-11 so as to enable the government to carry on the activities till April 2010.
The Annual Plan for Manipur for the year 2010-11 was finalised at Rs 2,600 crore on March 11 and the budget would be based on the amount finalised by the Planning Commission.
