MPP MLA suspended from party

Imphal, Jun 30 : The Manipur People's Party has suspended MLA from Khurai assembly constituency Ng Bijoy Singh from the primary membership of the party.

MPP sources said the party has also intimated the decision to the Secretary of Manipur Legislative Assembly.

Dr Bijoy, who won for the first time from Khurai Assembly constituency as a member of MPP, had reportedly failed to renew his membership even after repeated reminders.

The MPP has now three MLAs in the 60-member House.

The status of Dr Bijoy is likely to figure in the discussion in next Assembly session scheduled to begin on July 7.
