Imphal, Nov 2 : Governor Gurbachan Jagat has conveyed best greetings to the people of Manipur, specially Kuki-Chin-Mizo brethren on the joyous occasion of Kut festival 2010 .
Observing that Kut is a post harvest festival of Kuki-Chin-Mizo groups of Manipur by way of thanksgiving to god for a bountiful harvest, the Governor wished that the traditional festival would be celebrated in its true spirit and that it would herald a new era of a peaceful and prosperous Manipur.
Conveying best wishes to all the people of Manipur, particularly Kuki-Chin-Mizo groups on the joyous occasion of Kut festival 2010, Chief Minister O Ibobi stated that the spirit of Kut is all about sharing, understanding, harmonious co-existence, cooperation and merriment.
"May Kut festival bring peace, prosperity and unity in the State", the Chief Minister prayed.
MP Dr T Meinya in his message said, "Let the festival bring love, brotherhood, peace, harmony, prosperity and development amongst various communities of the State.
MPCC president Gaikhangam, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, United Committee Manipur and Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) also greeted the people of the State on the occasion of Kut.
