Imphal, oct 8 : A team from Manipur Tourism Department will take part in the Indian Travel Mart, Srinagar, to be held from October 8 to 10.
Dy Director, State Tourism Department K Shyamsundar today said the team would promote and publicise the upcoming Manipur Sangai Festival 2011, to be held in the State from November 21-30, 2011.
India Travel Mart (ITM) provides a single platform for international and national organisations.
The three-day Travel and Tourism Exhibition promises to provide detailed information about perfect holidays, travel and tour packages, rail tourism packages, online railway reservation, airlines, cruise and where to stay from the favourite and unexplored destinations, hotels, resorts, palaces etc around the country and abroad, he added.
The main aim of India Travel Mart is to boost tourism worldwide, develop relationship, business contacts and joint ventures.
The tourism team will seek to attract both domestic and foreign tourists to the state and the Manipur Sangai Festival which showcases the best of what the state has to offer to the world in terms of natural beauty, flora, fauna, arts and culture, handloom and handicrafts, fine arts, indigenous cuisines, traditional dances , music, indigenous games and adventure sports.
The team will be led by the Deputy Director and consists of Tourist Officer L Ibochoubi Singh, Managing Director, Seven Sisters Holidays HRK Sharma, Marketing Manager, the Classic Hotel Sommykanta Paonam, and Marketing Manager, Shija Hospitals Santosh.
